PERTH – Overworked Business Analyst and model train enthusiast Moe Ziegler has been in his role since the start of the year and finally woke up this weekend not feeling completely exhausted.
Mr. Ziegler, who’s delivered a number of projects in recent months including the large Enterprise Migration System, got up at 8am on Saturday with no fears of getting an urgent work call ‘to just check something’ or to drop his kids off at sport practice. It was then that he recalled he had a hobby at one point which he immensely enjoyed.. Mr. Ziegler rushed to his hobby shelf and carefully unboxed his model train kits which sat under a blanket of dust.
Four hours of immense bliss later he remembered what it was like to feel joy again, with no paranoia of Teams lights turning orange or the looming threat of AI taking over his job.
“It feels like I enjoyed my hobby just the other day, but then I realise that was 5 months ago and since then we’ve had two restructures and a massive data leak due to the shoddily managed Enterprise Migration System. But today I am Conductor Ziegler, ensuring that all my passengers get from Perth to Adelaide with not a single piece of luggage missing”.
Mr. Ziegler said he will try to get back to his hobby more thanks to this brand new initiative HR has started called work life balance.
