Hot one today, folks! It would be good to be at the beach now, am I right?

AUSTRALIA – Nationwide the country is trapped in a heatwave and tensions are high: all Fire Rescue and ambulances are on standby, kids on holidays are stuck at home with frustrated parents and even the wild animals are also not spared from the onslaught.

However in many offices the quiet staff members have never been happier, feeling the anxiety of being asked how their holiday break was they can now pivot the conversation to the weather. Joe McKinnison, Safety Manager at PingusCorp always felt his nerves rise in the first week back in the office as the usual range of questions asked if he had a nice Christmas and what he got up to for New Years’.

This week Mr. McKinnison can make small talk with the best of them:
“It was 32º by 9am, crazy!”
“I feel sorry for those people without air con!”“I may have to have ice cream for lunch!”
“I’m not looking forward to the train ride home!”
“How good would a swim in the ocean be after work!”

Mr. McKinnison was later seen using the BOM app to get the forecast for the remainder of the month. Colleagues claimed they’ve never seen someone enjoy the heat so much.
