Slack isn’t just a chat program, it’s a way of life!

SYDNEY – After a gruelling few months getting a large project over the line the Production team at PingusTech finally had a weekend off. Associate Project Manager and tech enthusiast Jonah Gardner was excited to attend Sunday brunch with his friends he admittedly have been neglecting since the project kicked off.

Twelve minutes into arriving and making small talk about the weather and the footy team Mr. Gardner’s phone pinged with a Slack notification stating ‘Urgent: client wants to make the logo bigger’. His friends were transfixed on the sleek design of this intrusive message, and Mr. Gardner was more than happy to elaborate on Slack’s latest features. ‘It has this really great plugin where it guesses what the other persons’ message will be, so far it doesn’t function very well hence me having to work on a Sunday, but it looks good!’.

He then proceeded to further fawn over Slack, acting as an unofficial sales rep and thoroughly convincing his friends, who are Teams users in their corporate jobs, that this chat app is much more advanced and beneficial than their chat app.

We only have Teams on our Lenovo Thinkpads that we access during work hours which is fine, but if we had Slack on our phones we’d be contactable by management all the time and even be able to work on weekends!’, Mary Sattler was heard saying with a jealous tone in her voice.
