BRISBANE – With a dramatic drop in temperature last week and the looming threat of late nights working on EOFY-related projects today’s Mondayitis at PingusCo. has been the worst fatality rate since records began.
It started late on Sunday evening when Shane Clifford-Smith left a message in the team’s Slack group saying he’s not feeling well and will be taking Monday off to rest. Not long after that did Brenda Olsen leave a similarly ominous-sounding reply stating she’s also not feeling well.
By Monday morning there were three more casualties confirmed in what medical professionals are describing as he worst Mondayitis on record.
“The last time we saw anything this bad was in late summer 2020 when Covid was just taking off and we had three members of staff not come in. Unfortunately for them Mondayitis got them before Covid-19 did”, said ED General Practitioner Dr. Hastings.
The Head of Australia’s Immunology Research Institute advises by the that everyone take precaution in the cold winter mornings by ironing clothes on the weekend or dropping them off at the dry cleaners and to have a meal plan ready to make these frosty June days more bearable.
